INTERPRETATION OF GRADES
1. Grading system is used for all the subjects of Nursery and Prep.
2.Grading and Mark system is used for the main subject of the classes form I toX. Full marks is 100 and pass mark is 40.
3. The CBSE has a provision to upgrade the grades obtained in the scholastic area of a student for outstanding performance in the co – scholastic areas and

EXAMINATION AND PROMOTION
* The academic year is divided into two semesters. There are exams at the end of each semester.
1. A student failing in his class at the end of the year does not remain on the fools unless the parent/guardian notifies the Principal in advance that he wishes his ward to continue his studies in the school.
2. Examination cannot be deferred nor can they be anticipated to suit individual convenience.
3. A student who misses a Terminal Examination will not be allowed to appear for the same at a later date. If the absence is justified the matter will be taken into account at the end of the school year. Parents are therefore, requested not to send their children for an examination when they are ill or recovering from an illness.
4. Formative and Summative Assessment will be taken as according to their schedule.
5. Astudent who fails in three main subjects will not be promoted.
6. The Principal promotes a student in a consultation with the class teacher. Minimum attendance require for promotion is 90%. This may be relaxed only in the most exceptional circumstances.
7. Application for the verification of marks may be considered (in special cases) at the discretion of the Principal. 8. Results declared at the end of the academic year are final in all cases and will not be reconsidered.
9. If any student is found using unfair means in the examination, he/she is liable to be expelled from the school. 10. Promotion of the student to the next higher class depends on his/her performance in the examination and other activities. Therefore a student should participate seriously in every activity of the school.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE AND ATTENDANCE
1. Students who have been absent from a class or part of it, must a letter from their parents stating the cause of their absence or delay besides filling in the calendar. They must show their class teachers their regularity record duly counter signed by the Principal. Incase of an illness exceeding 3 days, a medical certificate must be attached to the letter concerned. No leave of absence will be granted without a previous written application form the parents. Absence on account of birthday, marriage feasts are similar reasons is discouraged.
2. Students must be present on the re – opening and closing day of the school.
3. If student is absent for a month without any prior – information to the Principal, his or her name will be struck off from the school register. If he/she want s to continue needs to be re-admitted. Re¬admission fee of Rs. 200/- will be charged along with the fee, not paid by the student.
ART, CRAFT AND MUSIC
The school provides opportunity to develop their abilities in Art, craft music painting etc. Students of class X must secure a grade higher than E in art, craft and music in order to be eligible to obtain pass certificate of Central Board, girls will have the option of needle work and embroidery.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Work experience is an essential component of the course of studies in which a student must secure a grade higher then E to obtain a pass certificate in the central board. Computer science – 2 project emersion, is taught in the school underwork experience.
THE HOUSE SYSTEM
To promote empetitive team spirit in games, sports, cultural, academic and non academic activities, the school is divided into for House, i.e. Damodar, Barakar, Swarnrekha and Konar Each house has a Captain and Vice-Captain. Staff members are in charge of the houses. Different competitions, games and sport are conducted in the houses. The house scoring the hightest pornt is felicitated. Individual prizes are also given to the students.

GAMES AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
The CBSE grants the pass certificate to only those students who have reguiarly taken part in games and sprts and other activities and have secured a grace higher than E in Health and Physical Education.
At St. Paul’s School games and cultural activities are an intergral part of education by which students learn cooperation, team spirit, courage, leadership, and confidence, Participation in the same boosts them up to achieve grater things.
School provides facilities and opportunities for Athletics, Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Hand ball.
School provides every child a chance to appear in public sometime during the year. Whether it be Assembly, Parent’s Day. Inter school competitions, and other school celebrations or activities. School conducts different competitions like music debate, quiz, dramatics, monoact, calligraphy, drawing, painting elocution, extempore speech, Fancy dress, essay, dance, G.K. etc. Inter School and Inter House competition are also held.
